The photo I posted for this thread was taken with a Starlight Xpress SXVF-H9C and no filters. I have also shot using the H9C and QHY8 using the IDAS LPS-V3 filter, which works very well for light polluted skies. I have also shot narrowband filters like H-alpha using the ST-10 camera. Check out SteveL's shots for examples of the QHY8 and H-alpha.

Thanks Steve for sharing those. My 'Chity' skies here in Reno will need a HA configuration...skip the LRGB.

Try an Hutech IDAS or Astronomik CLS Light pollution filter... my skies are OK, but certainly not LP free.

Hi,

Also, you might buy "The NewAstro Zone System for Astro Imaging". Its very expensive book, but worth it.
